Still can’t believe my little guy is 2 years old now.
Catrina told me a few days ago she found him in the bathroom up on the toilet with his baby seat on the toilet going potty. I didn’t much believe it and blew it off. Today I am Watching an animal video with him and he gets up and runs in the bathroom, I thought maybe he was just getting a toy. NOPE, I go over there and see him climb up onto the toilet and go potty! A lot gets on the seat because he can’t really aim but I am amazed I don’t even ask him if he has to go, he just does on his own.
Now this only works at home because he can’t tell us when he has to go yet in public because he doesn’t communicate the best yet. And also if he is wearing pants or a diaper out someplace he just assumes that is where he is to go. But hey at least at home he knows what the potty is for without being told. I am not rushing potty training, I know it is best for them to learn later on at 2.5 to 3 so they aren’t always holding their bladders so young.
On walks he is so much more aware of things every car, puppy, bird, squirrel, and duck statue on someones porch needs to be pointed and called by name. Then if he gets to stop an look at it he will tell it bye when we walk by. He also will ask if you are OK? if you say ouch, knows his basic colors, counts to 3 and will tell you to stop if you continue to tickle when he is done. I have a feeling when he learns to string words together I am in trouble.
